Mens Basketball or New Orleans Saints? Both need to be rebuilt from the ground up.

College basketball doesn’t have a salary cap. So I’d say the saints

Saints are 60 MM over the salary cap. They have a broke QB and are stuck for years to come.
But who gives a shite about the AINTS. With all due respect.

The Saints by a long shot. Until they get new ownership, they are screwed.

The Saints have the worst cap situation in the NFL.
Will Wade proved you can produce a winner in 2 years in basketball at LSU.
College basketball isn't hard to fix, you just have to be willing to play the game and stand by your guys like Bill Self and Kansas did.
The NFL is a lot trickier. Saints need to just implode. Trade everyone and rebuild like the Lions did.

I think my definition of a winner and yours is a little different. Maybe say he produced a competitive team. I'm not even bashing Wade, but you guys act like he is some National Champion coach when he has never even sniffed that. Hell, McMahon has more Tourney wins than Wade, or so I think I read somewhere. We had a good team a few years, and won a game or two in the tourney (Wade wasn't even on the bench). Everything has changed in college sports now though, and look at the SEC...they are absolutely taking over college basketball...and where there were 3 or 4 good teams back when Wade was coaching in the SEC, there are a dozen now. I am not saying he isn't successful and won't be. I am curious as to why no one came calling after his first year at Mcnese.

Many still care about LSU basketball. Not everyone is a fair weather fan.

Well said. Only I think it should be majority not minority.

We made multiple sweet 16's and won the SEC under Wade.
quote:You actually didn't read that.
Hell, McMahon has more Tourney wins than Wade, or so I think I read somewhere
Matt McMahons career record in the NCCA tournament is 2-3
Will Wade is 4-6
Matt has also coached for 10 years to Wades 9 and Will is 4 years younger than Matt.
quote:Wade built a team so good they made it to the NCAA Sweet 16 without him. He did it again but the SEC championship year we were a legit final four contender before Alleva caved like a bitch.
We had a good team a few years, and won a game or two in the tourney (Wade wasn't even on the bench)

Everything has changed in college sports now though,
McNese was 56-98 in the 5 years before Wade. They had only won 20+ games one time in the previous 20 years when they were 21-12 in 2010 and missed the tournament. Also never had won 30 games in their history.
They only made the tournament two times ever, once in 1988 and once in 2001.
Wade in his first year was 30-4 for the greatest record in their history and McNese made the tournament for the first time in 23 years.
lol what the frick are you talking about at this point? You're claiming the game has passed up Will Wade?
quote:Lol ok. The year Wade won the SEC - the SEC put 7 teams into the tournament. Auburn made the final four.
and where there were 3 or 4 good teams back when Wade was coaching in the SEC, there are a dozen now.
Tennessee was 31-6
Kentucky was 30-7
The SEC record is now 10 after last years banner year but before it was 8. Also just a reminder- We missed the tournament last year. Will Wade and McNese played in it.
