Over the last few years, we have seen the total incompetence of Democrats all over the nation as they have screwed up responses to natural disasters, riots etc.
Whie he wasn't perfect, he was lightyears ahead of the current crop of retards and we were lucky to had him instead of these idiots.
Also, I loved the costumes.

I wish downtown BR would come back to life like it was when Kip was in office.

Kip was a great mayor and his costume game was on point

Kip wasn’t bad. But a conservative probably would have been much better for our parish.

Sid can get this done

Hopefully Sid can restore downtown, as it is now, we haven't gone to that area in years unless totally necessary.

Of course, a true conservative would have been better but as a Democrat Kip was about the best you could hope for. He handled his emergencies well.
Compare him to the current bat shite insane Dems everywhere and Kip would fit in more with the current Republican party than the Democrats.

Never forget at the celebration for 2003 natty in the Tiger Stadium it was cold as hell and the wind was blowing crazy. He commented on the cold during his speech that he has went from a soul brother to a cold brother to a fudge sickle. Everyone died laughing except the other brothers in the crowd, they didn’t laugh.

Add Kip to the transition team!

Did he pass away? If so, prayers for Ms. Lois. Godspeed Kip.

No, just appreciating him compared to the current shite show Dems destroying cities all over the country.
He faced some really big challenges and handled them well.

Shows how terrible Sharon Weston Broome was, when you have folks praising Kip Holden. geez

Who knows the guy Kip is standing with in pic # 2? I do.

As I stated, Kip wasn't perfect, but he had competent people around him for the most part and handled hurricane response and the Katrina "thug" problem as well as you could expect. Just having a competent Chief of Police is better than practically all modern Democrats.
And yes, Kip is better than SWB by several orders of magnitude.

So why does he deserve a thread? This is exactly why he was elected….too many white people felt guilty for not voting for a black guy and convinced themselves that “he won’t be that bad”. In fairness, he wasn’t that bad, but that doesn’t mean we should praise him. Tell me the good he did that impacted our parish.

He’s the last democrat I voted for when he ran for Lt Governor. Would vote for him again over Fat Billy Nungasser

He was a good mayor of BR.
He handled disasters well, he brought some economic things to the city and revitalized downtown.
Before Kip downtown wasn’t even on the menu to go out to and once gone it hasn’t been since.

I'll always respect Kip for not letting the Sterling protestors screw up Baton Rouge.

Proud to say I got to vote for him while I was briefly an EBR resident. Also one of the last Democrats I voted for.

Turn on you TV and watch LA burn to ashes. This is with all of the vast resources available to them, straight up incompetence.
Now jump in your way back machine and go to the Katrina response. Blanco was in WAAAAAYYYYY over her head and useless, FEMA was a complete joke. Kip and his administration did a great job, especially considering what they had to work with. Name any modern Democrat that would make the "thug" comment and then back it up.
After the shootings BR could have been burned to the ground but once again his administration handled it well.
Then there is the downtown and other economic development he pushed.
You can disagree all that you want but Kip was a good Mayor and looking back in retrospect with everything around the country he looks even better.
