They seem to preempt Gutfeld quite often. Very annoying.

You need to understand, news networks WANT to report big news, because that gets views. There's usually just nothing big to show, so they have op-ed and talk shows.
For example, CNN was great during Desert Shield and Desert Storm. They had people embedded everywhere, and Wolf Blitzer and Bernie Shaw were actually in Baghdad during airstrikes (Wolf was hanging out the window doing awesome play-by-play, Bernie was hiding under a desk)

there is a bit of fire in California. they chose to cover the fire instead of telling jokes.

I think it's because Los Angeles is burning to the ground and his show is supposed to be somewhat funny. Just doesn't seem right to be telling jokes with that situation happening in LA
