Pete Carroll interviewing with bears

Man, I know he's old, but would you? I'd probably pass, but he seems like maybe he could turn us the right direction before he gives it up for good. Doubt he would either though.

I would because he would also know his role. I don’t think he’d be one to have “too much pride” to sacrifice his overall record knowing his job would be to help turn around an organization before handing the torch off to the next guy. If he were ring chasing, there would be no shot; but he already has his SB and rebuilding then turning this team around could be his move to be a HoF lock

Nah, i don't want them to have to go through this process when he retires in a few years for good.
Need long term

No one is making it long term. Unless they get a free pass to suck for 3-4 years.

He is the worst at giving information about injured players in every way possible. And for that reason I’m out. He said Chris Carson was fine then a few days later his career ended with a neck injury.

Would be helpful to bears I think.

correct
if not that then all we need is a placeholder we can fire and go go get a real coach once we fix the cap and get loaded up on draft picks.

I think we’re way more likely than not going to be doing this in a few years again given the state of our roster and who is in charge. I wouldn’t hate a culture guy like Pete if we don’t get one of our top hires.

Might as well hire Chucky then. HRs entertaining and double bonus, will piss off Roger to no end.

I like Carroll, but I think this is a young man's job. It's going to be a painful 3-year rebuild IMO.

So why would Pete come here then?

But you don't have to really. If you hire someone young enough with the understanding the first couple of years is a tear down.
Give a young guy a long leash and let him grow throughout the process.

The Saints organization will put Pete in the grave.

Why would anyone worth a shite come here?

I would, solely based on the idea that our next coach is a bridge through the rebuild years. It's hard for for to think the next HC will turn things around immediately, probably 3-4 years of suck, so a young HC without a successful resume might have a short leash. Also, having someone experienced that can combat Loomis and the ridiculous attempt to burn the organization down 1 bad contract at a time might be what's needed short term.
