And he still has as great as a head of hair as he did 35 years ago. Hope I look half as good at his age.
Happy birthday to one of the pioneers of yacht rock:

Having “great hair” when your old isn’t as great as many make it out to be. I’m well into my 50s and my hair is still thick as hell and grows like a weed. It’s a pain in the arse because I require a haircut every two weeks. And then there is the matter of having to fix my hair every day. It’s naturally straight, but wants to stand up unless it’s long. So I have to keep my air either really short, thus the haircut every two weeks, or really long so it will lay down. Anything in between and I look like a walking Chia Pet. My solution is to keep the sides super short and the very top really long in what I’ve been told is a “Viking” haircut. I like it because all I have to do is put a little pomade in it and comb it straight back. I hate having to bother with my hair.

of all the talents on yacht rock,
Loggins and Michael McDonald are the two reigning kings.
i did think that Gino Vanellii (I just want to stop) was actually Kenny.

Yep.
I almost called him the king of yacht rock in my OP but figured that was a bridge too far. That title belongs to McDonald but Loggins is right behind him. Those two created the genre

i saw him a few years ago, and he told a story about a huge biker dude who sat about the 3rd row and said, loudly, "sing the song about the bear." "So, I sang the song about the bear."

Still hate him for what he did to the Doobie Brothers sound

The king of soundtracks. I always liked this one from Footloose.
