I have been noticing that many cars I see don't have inspection stickers. This includes all types of vehicles, new high end cars and trucks and even old junkers. Do police no longer enforce this?

They are all from other states. Check the plates.

I’ve been pulled over twice for expired stickers. Meanwhile, my Mexican yard guy Alfredo has LA sticker, MS plate, and uses a passport as a DL.

I’ve owned a vehicle for about 28 years. I think I’ve gotten one inspected about 3 times in that period. Can’t remember having it done since early 2000s. My current one says 1/23 on it lol

I remember those as a kid but we haven't had them in arkansas since the 90s.

Gotten a few sweet deals on trucks that couldn't pass inspection in other states for stupid emissions crap. Brought home and drove the hell out of em.

At least half the vehicles on the road here in arkansas wouldn't pass an inspection.

Some inspection stations go overboard. For instance a few years ago they rejected my renewal because the motor on the drivers side window went out and the window wouldn't go down. He rejected me because he said if stopped the window had to work in order to communicate with the officer. I told him I could just open the door to communicate, that wasn't acceptable.

Beware of inspection sites that also provide services to fix your issues. They have motivation to reject you for everything they can "fix" for you. Find one that inspects but has no way of repairing any problems and most will let you slide

We didn’t have to get inspection stickers when I lived in South Carolina, but we did have to pay a yearly tax on our vehicles. The cost went down each year as your vehicle got older.

I’d much rather pay the $10-$20 every year or two for an inspection sticker as opposed to paying a couple of hundred bucks a year for the vehicle tax.

Louisiana would go broke if they couldn't steal from the poor. Inspection stickers won't ever go away.

That's because neighboring states are doing away with them while Louisiana is stuck in the past and people have developed small businesses around this stupid money grab!

Nope, especially since you see these little small shops and businesses that have spawned as a result of this requirement.
