Led Zeppelin was the greatest cover band of all time.

I’m fairly certain Led Zeppelin never recorded a single cover song.

You probably heard someone say that and thought it sounded edgy.

Their entire first album was covers of old blues songs.
Not sure if you are ignorant or trolling...

I’m obviously trolling.

That whole “they are a cover band” thing irritates me.

And only 3 songs on “Led Zeppelin” are not credited to members of the band.

And, back on topic, I hope to see the movie.

I recently saw the Jason Bonham Led Zeppelin Evening.

It was fantastic.

They never came across a dead old black blues musician they wouldn't rip off.

Zeppelin was a really loud & more aggressive Blues band. Sabbath was a really loud & more aggressive Jazz band. And they both did it to perfection.

Kafka seemed really pumped about seeing this. He actually bought me a ticket but I had to decline.

Dozens of bands did this. Not sure why it's even noteworthy.

Rolling Stones, Allman Brothers, Jimi Hendrix, George Thorogood, The Doors, Eric Clapton (and all his bands) and many, many, many others.

Who "ripped off" other dead old black, irish, Arab and God knows what other musicians in their time. Boy, when I think of black blues guys getting ripped off... Kashmir, Immigrant Song, D'yer Maker, In the Light, Battle of Evemore... wow. It's like a regular Chess Records medley. Not the Rolling Stones, who WERE a blues cover band or Eric Clapton who WAS a ripoff of every blues noodler to register a pulse.

Get off it. Of all the 60s-70s blues ripoffs, Zeppelin stretched that envelope possibly more than any rock band in their day.

Because Zeppelin originally ripped them off without giving proper song writing credits and in turn a lot of money. It wasn't until they were sued by multiple estates that they corrected the song writing credits.

...and they did it a lot.

It's funny, you always hear they ripped off, but listen to the originals and the LZ version blows it out of the water. Most aren't even recognizable.

Pretty subjective

...but that's not the point. They ripped off a shitload of old blues players.

...until they were forced to give them credit.

The vast, vast majority of their songs are still credited to LZ members, so what you are claiming didn’t happen often.
