Coworker's birthday lunch

I have been invited to have lunch with some people from work to celebrate a co-worker's birthday. I had not heard of the restaurant so I looked it up online for the address. I found out that it is a vegan restaurant. I looked at the menu and there is not one thing on it that I would be willing to eat. My choices are to go, order a drink, and say that I am not hungry or to not go and send a gift with someone who is going. Has anyone ever been in a situation like this and what did you do?

Don’t be a bitch, pretend you’re on Fear Factor.

You just fricking go dumbass. Us adults have to do shite we don’t like all the time.
But also, they’re clueless for picking a vegan only restaurant. Sound like the whole organization may be low brow

Just order some chicken strips from the kids menu, Timmy.

Yep, same situation. I didn’t go, said I had a meeting planned that day. I do a lot of lunches for clinics so I played that card

Is the coworker someone you want to honor by attending their BDay lunch?
If so, can you not eat a salad?

I’m really concerned about the growing pettiness of the OT.
Be an alpha. Go to the lunch, pretend you didn’t know it was a vegan place, eat the co-worker whose birthday it is.
There, that makes as much sense as this thread.

Just dont go, why is this an issue?

It doesn’t even sound like yall are even really friends if you didn’t know he/she is vegan.
Also, you’re adults, why are you getting someone who is not your spouse or close relation a gift? Especially if you aren’t even that good of friends.

Bring in a bag of stuff you will eat from Chick Fil A

Go and get hammered and make fun of vegans

Well at least you got invited. Think about that.

I would not order tofu burger or any other fake food items, but it is hard to believe you could not order chef salad or something similar.

What is it about Auburn fans and social dilemmas this week?

Just order a salad - why is this so complicated

Dude be an adult. Either go and try something new if you like the person or don’t go. Do you really need your hand held for this?

Either don’t go or order a salad. You’re over thinking this or just being petty.
