Sure seems that there is a concerted effort to get Teedy to step down as Nola's mayor for gross incompetence. I doubt Nungesser would speak this freely without marching orders from Landry, Murrell and Kennedy. Just turned on Fox News and Ted Williams is backing up Nungesser and saying Nola will be sued into oblivion starting Monday with the first round of gross negligence lawsuits...and all of this lies at the feet of Latoya in his opinion.

Could this dumb bitch be out before the SuperBowl with the history of malfeasance they already have on her?

I hate her with a passion but suing the city over a terrorist attack is not going to be good for anyone. The guy could have just as easily zoomed down the wide sidewalks of canal or poydras right before the game and killed scores more people.

Is there really a school of thought that the city "deserves" to be sued because of missing barricades on Bourbon? If so that's retarded.

Get in the long line of judgment holders if you think City of NOLA will ever pay

Saying they could have taken more precautions but failed to do so. Lawsuits are coming in hot.

I could be wrong but I believe major municipalities have to carry Terrorism liability insurance to maintain their muni bond levels and rating. At the very least it would seem the limits on those policies will be coughed up.

I’m no lawyer but didn’t the city have a cop car blocking the entrance?

I don’t think you’ll get many people to agree that the city was negligent if they took reasonable steps to mitigate risk.

Seems unlikely the powers that be locally or in the NFL would want that sort of leadership vacancy leading into the SB.

That is not a defense of Teedy She could not be more useless and obese. But having her out of that position creates a major visual appearance that things are spiraling out of control and nobody is in charge.

They didn’t use the temporary barriers that they had to block the sidewalks.

Thats pretty negligent.

Well Louisiana is a unique state in that we have comparative negligence. This does not bode well for Nola's defense imo and of course Nungesser is wrapping this thing up with a shiny bow for the plaintiff side.

gross negligence was shown outright in gramma tough lady Flo admitting that she didn't know they had anything to put up.

then the others said mistakes were made let's move on.

if the people killed don't have their families' punitive damages alone enough to own NOLA-they hired the wrong lawyers.

I have walked (and sometimes stumbled in my younger days) through the Canal/Bourbon intersection many times. I have never once even thought about someone driving through it with the intent of harming so many people. It's like flying airplanes into buildings. I never even thought about it until it happened. I can't see holding the city responsible for something that I had never even thought of.

I heard her press conference and she sounded like a fricking middle schooler with a ghetto voice. She probably can’t even comprehend shite when she reads things because she sounds dumb as frick

Well they failed to prevent the incident so on a certain level you will always be able to argue there was some fault and I’m sure they will pay something. But I just don’t see a massive verdict because the city put everyone at great peril. Not to mention the police on the scene acting with immense courage and rushed into danger to protect the citizens in harms way. I just don’t see how you’re going to convince a jury that the city did anything horribly negligent. But again, I’m no lawyer.

They certainly ought to be. The city needs a mayor who is honest and competent. Or at least more so than Teedy.

She just pisses me off to look at. I don’t know what it is. And no it’s not racism because there is a black checkout girl at the piggy wiggly that I would do almost anything to pork, and she’s blacker than a mother fricker.

Trust me, everyone at every level would prefer she be gone. She hasn’t done anything in over a year. The city council had to step in and try to run the city for her

Having those barriers and not deploying them and admitting to not knowing they were in their inventory is the negligent part.

Those barriers are nothing new. They are easy to deploy and cheap when considering the cost of the lives lost.

They are essential to the overall vehicle access denial protocol for large events.

Even the Kansas State Fair uses them.

Excellent point

And I don’t think we want to live in a world where governments feel compelled to wrap us in bubble wrap every moment. It’s an imperfect world that will be exploited by shitheads from time to time. People saying the city is at fault better be blaming guns for every murder instead of the murderer.
