So a late 2nd or 3rd round NFL who gets about a 4 year $4 mil

and still has college eligibility, maybe we can look for a safety there and match or beat his rookie contract and his incentive would be to play his arse off and get re-drafted in the 1st round for a $30 mil contract?

2nd and 3rd round picks make more than $4 million. The last pick in the draft will get more than $4 million.

I don't know if you are right. But that doesn't sound right to me. I didn't even think the last pick in the draft usually made a team.

NO WAY IN HELL the last pick of the draft has a signing bonus of $4 million+. And he sure ain't getting a guaranteed contract for that much.

Just googled it myself, and I stand corrected. $4.1 million for 4 years to the last pick in the draft. That's crazy money for that spot.
I guess I'm not living on planet earth.
The only difference might be that the school could guarantee that money if the player stayed 4 years. Hardly any contracts are guaranteed in the NFL.

What? Just because it’s not a fully guaranteed contract doesn’t means it’s a signing bonus… it’s just a salary.

This post is about players who are projected 2nd/3rd round picks. How are you going to guarantee a 4 year contract to a guy that is draft eligible?

You're right. A mid round pick (and higher) according to the scale the NFL pays on would have to be huge money in NIL.
I wasn't aware how high the salaries were for lower round picks until I googled it a few minutes ago. My assumption was that the last pick signed for maybe $600k a year, with almost none of that guaranteed. Obviously those mid round picks get considerably more.
I do know that I've read multiple times that there are only a handful of fully guaranteed contracts in the NFL. Deshaun Watson is one. Almost all players get their guaranteed cash in the signing bonus.
