For those who advocated for a dual threat QB, just look at the teams that are in the playoffs currently. I am glad that Garrett is coming back because JD and Joey B are not walking through the door next year. I believe that Garrett would have been drafted very high had he chosen to leave LSU this year.

A good QB these days needs to be mobile enough to escape pressure and know when to run and when to scramble to extend plays. Try to limit sacks

There is only one 1 dual threat left, the Oregon qb. I think you mean a mobile qb. Nuss is mobile, he just won’t run.

Nuss is very good at that imo.

Thing is, posters who cry about that move the definition of mobile QB to whatever supports their particular argument at that time.

Nussmeier would have had the least amount of rush yards by a QB in the CFB playoff.

Leonard 828 ru Yds 15 TD
Klubnik - 642 ruYds, 7 TD
Leavitt- 542 ruYds 5 TD
Iamaleava- 515 ruYds 3 TD
Jennings 480 ruYds 5 TD
Allar 421 ruYds 6 TD
Gabriel 319 ruYds 7 TD
Madsen 296 ruYds 5 TD
Howard- 277 ruYds 7 TD
Beck 218 ruYds 1 TD
Rourke 121 ruYds 2 TD

----------------------------

Nussmeier 100 ruYds 3 TD

Mobility has always been an advantage. Very few IMobile QBs have been successful. Brady, Marino and Manning are the ones that come to mind. Almost all successful QBs have been good at avoiding sacks, but you don’t need to be an elite runner to he successful. Elite passing QBs are still better than elite running QBs, because the ball is faster than everyone else, and elite passers get the ball to elite athletes in space, but if a QB is not a threat to run, he has to be elite at passing. It is far easier to be successful by being very good at both, and that is what most successful QBs are.

I think Brees would be a good comp for Nuss. Short in stature, quick release, accurate, atheletic but doesnt run much.

Nuss was one of the least sacked starting QBs in the SEC.

Running/Dual Threat QBs don’t win championships. NFL and College history has proven that.
