I don’t see people changing the colloquial name in Houston. Enron was easy to let go of because our parents lost their jobs and retirement because of Enron.

What happened? Minute Maid didn’t renew their naming rights?

From what I read the naming rights ran out, they did put in a similar bid but Daikin paid more. Daikin is the worlds largest air conditioner manufacturer so maybe it can be the Ice Box now instead of the Juice Box.

This has a Staples Center to Crypto.com Arena type feel. It’ll always be Minute Maid Park to most fans

My biggest gripe was they didn't sell orange juice. Hard to make a screwdriver without OJ

Like the carrier dome before they had AC, or the time the power went out at Reliant

Imagine going from Great Western Forum to Staples (not even Office Max/Depot) Center or from Astrodome to Enron (nobody knew wtf Enron was) Field to Minute Maid (not even Tropicana or Snapple) Park.

It's forever the Juice Box to me. Not calling it anything else ever again.

“Great Western” (as in Great Western Bank) was a sponsor.

And still a much better name than “Staples,” especially in 1999
