Who is the person making the player personnel acquisition decisions? Who is in charge of acquiring the player personnel through Draft and Free Agency? Talent eval?

Is it Ireland or Loomis?

If it is Ireland, then I should stop blaming Loomis if we Draft or FA hire a dud.

Doesn't matter. Loomis is the one who has continually fricked the cap and that is the biggest issue.

Loomis makes the trades- and I cant say hes made a great trade in 10 yrs. Picks for Davenport, Jalen Carter, Penning, Baun,Trautman, Sean Payton, Olave. Look at all the picks involved with each of these names, even the ones where we got a decent player(Olave)-we overpaid. We did "OK" with Lattimore, but we could have gotten two high picks a few years ago. We are paying his 18 million dollar salary. We essentially paid ( million +18 million for a 3rd round pick)The decision to offer Peat very little chased him away. Do u really think he's not better than our joke guards or Penning. They both were involved, and both need to go.

They are both responsible and should be fired.

I believe our overall draft picks have been better under Ireland. I think he was also hindered by SPs beliefs on certain players.

Good points.

But it is a sign of just how dysfunctional the whole Saints franchise is, when some of the most knowledgeable fans don't know with certainty that the answers to my questions.

Nope. Ireland is head of college personnel and Michael Parenton is head of Pro personnel

Loomis has the most authority and no one holding him accountable for real.

I'd love to be a fly on the wall when he interviews the coaching candidates. I'm sure they'd have questions of their own for him.

Hypothetically if I'm a serious coaching candidate, I'd want to know his vision for the team. If it doesn't match up what I'm looking for, then no thanks.

If Loomis is really wanting to hire a coach, he already knows then I understand that. But his decision-making post Payton/Brees has failed mostly. I don't trust him.

Thanks very much!

Folks, Loomis and Lauscha's proper roles IMHO are to allow Ireland and Parenton to conduct player personnel evaluation and acquisition.

If the roster stinks, Loomis's role is then to replace Ireland and or Parenton.
