Going to Ketchikan, AK in August 2025, anyone been?

Need suggestions if you have been. Going to be there about three days.

I will tell you what not to do. Don’t waste your money at the brothel. It is now some kind of museum.
I have been to Ketchikan twice on Alaskan cruises. We did a lot of sightseeing excursions, train rides and whale watching boat rides in other ports, but it seems that in Ketchikan we just hung around town. It is a quaint little town to walk around. They have a boardwalk and hiking trails, including one that leads up the hill to the Cape Fox Lodge which would be a good place to stay.
I have to say that while I liked Ketchikan, I didn't find that there was as much to do there as in some of the other towns.

Salmon fishing. It was awesome. My boys will never forget that experience.

Ketchikan is the worst of the Southeast cities. There are some interesting things to do in the area though.
Expect lots of rain, if you plan on doing sightseeing you'll need to pick a window of opportunity, flying to Misty Fjords can be dicey in weather.

Flew in to Ketchikan to catch a float plane to go fishing

It’s an addictive hobby and I don’t even eat much salmon. I give it away.
Go catch some big Ling Cod OP.

We did the excursion to Misty Fjords & saw whales and many walruses along rugged coastline. But, boy was it cold driving out there. Saw eagles when first drove up for our excursion.
