Joseph and Mary (heavily pregnant) returned to their village as required by Roman law for the census and payment of taxes. THEY OBEYED THE LAW even though they may not have agreed with it.
Jesus said to give Cesar what's Cesar's (again, even if you don't agree with his laws).
I am so sick of these liberal asses diluting Christianity for their nefarious purposes.

What a downright stupid story for only the most gullible people.
“Hey Joseph you have a million male ancestors in the last thousand years, so pick one of cities one of them lived in a thousand years ago and go there so we can count you!”
That’d be like a world government wanting to count people and stuff and since you are descended from Charlemagne or Ghengis Khan, you must travel to Germany or Mongolia before you can be counted. It’s stupid.
When you conduct a census, you count the people and stuff where it is.
There was no Roman law that Roman citizens had to travel to the site of one ancestor a thousand years ago in order to be counted. Stop being an idiot.
