Can Trindon make it in the NFL?

He certainly can't make it as a WR which is what hes listed as at LSU but I'm debating whether or not he could make it as a KR/PR specialist and maybe some specialty plays at RB or maybe he would be better off focusing on his track skills. What say you?

Then you don't know who Darren Sproles is. I've seen this comparison here before. It makes no sense. Trindon has absolutely no power compared to Sproles's.

Hes a great returner in the COLLEGE game...I wonder if he would be that great in the league against NFL caliber special teams. I'm sure someone will take a chance on him, maybe he goes as an undrafted FA.

He could go the John Capel/Justin Gatlin route and get some passing interest from NFL teams, but I would be very surprised if he gets on a permanent roster.
Sproles had much more production in college. He was K-State's every down back for three years and almost got 2000 yards one season.

You're asking two questions.
First, can he make it in the NFL as a return specialist? Yeah, I think so. Granted, some of the speedsters coming out of LSU recently haven't exactly had stellar NFL careers, but Holliday is probably faster than anyone that's ever played for LSU and no doubt one of the fastest players in the league's history. Also, while I doubt it's quite enough to be a running back in the NFL, he has an odd ability to just slip out of tackles. It's not crazy jukes or nasty stiff arms or anything, but he just kinda bounces off of people like a pinball zipping around at the speed of light. That would certainly help as a return man.
Now, the other question. Is he better off focusing on his track skills? From a financial standpoint, I don't really know. It depends on how much professional track stars make. Just given some of the numbers I've seen for NFL players, Holliday could feasibly make quite a bit of money if he becomes a valuable asset on special teams. As far as his actual skillset goes, I'd say he would be better at track than football.

He will make it in the NFL, but he won't make it in track because he has long strides. At least, thats what I remember from the LSU-UF game this year.

If he is among the top 20 guys on the pro track circuit, he would make more money running track, and his quality of life would be much better. While he could pull a hamstring, I seriously doubt he would have any ACL/MCL injury, and he won't wake up every morning feeling like he just stepped out of a car crash, once he retires.
The weekly travel can be a pain in the arse, but it's a small price to pay. The only question is whether he would consistently be among the top 20 guys on the track circuit.

Assuming he continues to develop as a punt returner (eliminates the fumbles) I think he has a very good shot at making it as a return specialist.

Yeah. he's already well known, giving him a huge boost in endorsements compared to the average sprinter
