How upset are you about the Saints losing seasons of late?

Was curious if anyone else felt similar to me.

Im 34 and grew up a big LSU/Saints fan but the Saints were always my #1 team... and i basically never missed a game since i was about 8. We had season tickets on the 20 about 12 rows up and just remember the frustration of the Ditka/Hasslet years. I remember how much Aaron Brooks used to piss me off. but i also remember how insane the stadium was for the Hakim dropped the ball playoff win.. but then i was in 9th grade and a friend told me in Geography that the Saints just got Payton. In my delusion at first i thought he meant Peyton Manning.. but alas, i will always remember that moment because Payton brought in Drew Brees and we got Reggie Bush and it was a new dawn. I will defend Drew Brees being the best qb in the nfl to anyone and think he performed a miracle bringing a super bowl to New Orleans. We obviously are/were a pretty pathetic franchise and we shouldve done more with Brees.... but the super bowl and years of winning...

has made me appreciate that moving on from a sports god (in my mind at least) was never going to be easy and we probably arent close to turning things around and competing for super bowls.... but damn i can remember how awesome that super bowl was and how much fun watching drew brees was and that eases any frustration with our current dynamic.

The stubbornness of our front office clinging to the past is what’s infuriating. If they had just accepted it, took our lumps, and rebuilt properly we could’ve already been back by now.

Don’t know if we’d be back by now because the roster depletion was just that bad, but agree with this.

At the end of the day, the results of the game/season don’t affect me. I will often miss portions of games during the season, but in my single life used to watch every play (even if it was record the game and start later). But for the “professional experts in the building” to not be able to see the things many of us have been clamoring since when Brees was still here is frustrating. Loyalty to your long term players in understandable, but there is no need to continually break the bank for that “1 player that will get us over the hump”

I have stated a few times that the fact they did not “go all in” on a FA last offseason that I am foolishly being optimistic that they may finally be trying to fix the albatross of the cap/roster situation. I’m sure I be proven 100% wrong when we sign the latest toy for the new HC, but here I am

It just seems like there isn’t a ton of hope. We seem somewhere in the Ditka/Haslett eras right now.

Our GM simply refuses to publicly acknowledge what so many fans can see. We’re not going to be overly competitive for a few years now. Stop making moves to marginally increase our short term prospects of maybe approaching .500 at the expense of our long term health as an organization.

We have absolutely ZERO positive organizational identity at this point outside of nostalgia for 10-15 years ago.

As for individual games i don’t get 1/10th as upset. My own kids are now in tons of activities and sports and I often don’t find out some games until after as we’re usually running around most weekends.

i'm just as diehard as i've always been, and the Saints will ALWAYS be my one and ONLY team, but i'm just much more realistic in my expectations nowadays, plus i'm very much a realist... if we suck, i have no problem saying we suck... i have no problem disconnecting when i feel they aren't worth being as plugged into... i only have a certain amount of time left on Earth, i'd rather not waste it watching a shitty product by what happens to be my favorite team...

same attitude applies to LSU sports, Pelicans basketball and Liverpool soccer

After the no call against the rams, I really don’t emotionally invest in the NFL. It’s too fabricated.

No one should be upset since the NFL or WWF(whatever you want to call it) exposed themselves with the no call. Just sit back and watch their script unfold.

Taken away my passion for the team. Ever since our butt for brains owner and GM retained Dennis the Menace. It's blatantly obvious they couldn't care less about winning, so why waste my time and energy supporting them?

This season I've caught myself doing stuff during games.

Also drove over and came to two home games every year as far as I can remember.

But last season I only went to one game the jaguars game

And then this season looks like it's going to be the first one ever where I haven't gone to a single one.

I just kind of shake my head at the decision makers of this organization right now. I don't know if it's apathy or they're afraid they're going to lose their job. So they say things to people who matter what they want to hear. I don't know what it is.

I do like the fact that Rizzi has brought some life back to the team though. They are definitely playing harder since DA got fired. But it's not just the Saints, but the overall product of today's NFL just isn't that good.

I mean sure there's still a handful of really good teams, but it just feels like there's way more bad teams than there are good teams I don't know.

I went to the 1st Saints regular season game in 1967,I was 11 years old.
I know what losing football is like. This management has not made a playoff
game in 4 years and has started to remind me of the early years of this
franchise.Poor roster management ,bad strength and conditioning, total
lack of leadership from the top.As long as Gayle refuses to clean house
and bring in a different mindset we are back to the 1st 20 years of futility.
