Squid Game Season 2 Discussion (Spoilers)

Just under a week away so I figure why not get some discussion going. I was late to S1 but enjoyed it quite a bit more than I thought I would once I watched. Doing a re-watch now just because my memory is so bad and it's been 3 years. One of the few shows you can't really blame them for going so long in between seasons since there was no plan for a S2 originally.
Anybody think S2 is up to par with S1? Looks like Red Light, Green Light is back, and late night fight to the deaths, but other than that new games. Which is a good thing, because most of the games were actually pretty lame.
Searching the board and it doesn't look like the S2 trailer was posted...

If I recall correctly Season 1 ended
Spoilers below:
Winner gets money. Doesn’t fill fulfilled in life. Finds way to enter the game again. Cut to black.
Interested to see where they go.
Maybe winner is now one of the soldiers? Maybe winner tries to unite the lower class against the upper class (similar to Hunger Games)

Theres no way it can be as good as season 1, but I'm still really looking forward to this.
The reality show spinoff they did was a fun watch as well!

Edited the title so we can just discuss season one without having to say spoilers.
But yea, pretty much that was the ending. Other major plot was the old man was the guy running it/he wasn't killed in the game. I had actually forgotten about him finding a way back in.
There's definitely some for of rebellion going to happen. I'm not done with my rewatch so I honestly don't even remember what happens to the detective that infiltrated the game but it shows him briefly in the trailer. Maybe he gets in the game this time? Sounds racist but Asain folks do look alike at times so that might not even be him
Looks like a purple hair gay guy might actually be the "villain" this go around, which would be a first in TV history.

Think it ended with him boarding the plane to go back. Did a rewatch after the reality show came out. Was very rewatchable and I zoomed right through it in 1 weekend.

Kind of my thoughts. I feel like part of S1's success was just shock value and the story took a little back seat. Story was fine but not great. I think with the shock value being taken out, i don't know if the story will be good enough to carry it. Maybe I'm wrong though. But I'm definitely looking forward to it.

Yea, an insane amount of prize money was given out. Like a "I'm going to apply to be on this next time" amount.

From the trailer, its completely different than the way I thought it would go...
So he vowed revenge at end of Season 1 and instead of exposing them, he rejoins the game? Why wouldn't they just put a target on his back and kill him in one of the games and be done with his revenge plot?

Probably a mix of thinking a repeat winner would make the game more entertaining and feeling so powerful that they don't think anyone can actually pose a threat to them.

From the previews, it sounds like he wants back into the games so he can end it. I'm guessing a rebellion against the guards.

And if you believe the front man, they say the game is the great equalizer and once you’re in, the games are going to be fair and square. Hence the doctor getting killed in season because he had an advantage in a few games because he was removing the body parts for the guards. Seems like they wouldn’t even let him back in though.

Still think it was dumb for them to do a Season 2 when Season 1 was damn near perfect. Wish they had just left it alone and just given him a happy ending to see his daughter after everything he went through

But that can't be true because SooWin or whatever his name is knows what is really going on, as seen in Red Light/Green Light.
Will hold out hope this is halfway decent, but would have been more interesting if he found someone going into the next round and he was coaching them through somehow.
Also, think it was prety damn obvious the Cop brother would be back based off him shooting him in the shoulder and not the chest/head.

Jun-Hu, the cop, has been marketed on all the posters and in multiple previews. I'm guessing he will have some kind of alliance with 456.

Rewatched the season finale last night to refresh my memory.: been 3 years since I watched it and read the plot synopses of the other eps
Ready for season 2 as I really enjoyed season 1 as it was different and refreshing
