"Gifting"... when did we start using "Gift" as a verb?

It just sounds stupid.

You aren't "giving" someone something anymore? Now you have to be "Gifting" them something? Sounds made up and stupid.

That is all.

A better question is, when did invite become a noun? It's an invitation.

The worst is when people use a season as a verb:

“We are going to Summer in Italy.”

Pretentious fricks.

I think it started about the time they started using adulting as a verb as well.

In fairness to the turn of phrase, it originated with people actually spending entire seasons abroad as a regular occurrence

I don’t know.

Side rant completely unrelated.

If I call your business and a person says “I’ll reach out to…” you just guaranteed I’m not fricking with you anymore.

I don’t want you to reach out. I want you to handle it. You answered the phone with the implication you could solve my problem. That’s why I called you and pressed x.

Don’t sit there and raise your hand waiting to be called on. Don’t wave at the passing boat.

Whatever “reach out” means.

Get it done. Take personal responsibility. Be a fricking grown up. Not even a badass. Just a normal functioning adult.

Or tell ya what. Give me that guys number. That’s even better.

Business men. Business women. Be aggressive. Fix your clients stuff.

Rant over. Whatever. Okay boomer. I’m old. I’m not. I’m a fricking baby and I’m your boss. Take some gd responsibility and solve the problem.

Gift yourself some balls and do it now.

Gift. Do it now. Not -“I’ll be gifting myself some balls this year. Maybe in 14 years I can use them”. Just gift them and then get my shite done.

The saying is “take responsibility “.

Not “reach out” for someone else to save my arse on a simple gd thing that I can do but I’m too big of a weenie to exercise any modicum of autonomy “
