I’ve never seen the fan base so split.
On one hand it’s the fans that hate NIL and transfer portal saying it’s hurting the game.
On the other hand its posts like this one where people say it’s time to contribute money.
It’s exasperating to say the least.

Never underestimate crowd funding. It can grow very quickly. I’ve donated several times over the last year and I will be donating to Kelly’s plan as well.

NIL via Phil Knight buying the market hurts the game. Transfer portal needs to be corrected.

I do agree that NIL and unlimited transfers are hurting CFB but also understand it’s the current structure we live in. Whats the alternative? So if I want LSU to field a competitive team during the era, then I feel I need to do my part. Doesn’t mean I agree with it, if that makes sense.

The problem isn't paying players. The problem is the unlimited transfer portal. It makes building a roster nearly impossible. Give them one transfer...I think after the Freshman year is most fair, but I would agree to one in any year with no restrictions. After that, you sit out a year. Unless you graduate.

Luckily that money ultimately gets taken away when he violates that agreement and is put towards someone else for lsu.

You should scrape all your extra pennies together so some 17-18 year old kid can make a million dollars next year before pissing on your grave on their way out the door the very next season for a small bump to 1.1 mil?

Same! I just donated all of my kids’ Christmas gift money and my next 3 mortgages so we can watch Big Game Brian take 4 games off next year and then tell us more about how we’re not doing enough as fans!
