Jayden not playing Reliaquest Bowl was great for Nussmeier. Why would this be any different for Tyree Adams or Weston Davis or whichever young guys get their first start in the Texas Bowl?

Just what it is nowadays. Good thing about it is young guys can get reps. It'll be nice to see someone like Weston Davis get reps.

Understand the reasoning but don’t like it. I just can’t get used to guys quitting on their teammates. And Malik taking off his pads at halftime in the last bowl game? LOL. Football players play football.

He opted out all year.

Allowed only one sack all year. Granted, it was probably the hardest anyone hit Nuss, but that is first round material.

He did jump offsides a bunch, but so do the rest of the Oline.

With better coaching in the NFL, he will be a solid OT for years to come.

I am old. I grew up with the bowl system. At age 73 now, it matters little to me personally whether players opt out of bowl games or play in bowl games.

That being said, I HOPE when we begin paying our players directly (with AD funds), that contracts will mandate ALL players play in bowl games. JMO...

I’m fine with that. Would rather get an idea about how good a player could be for next year since it’s a meaningless game

Neville could have used him for that fist fight before the game with Central last week.
