Louisiana and LSU are such a unique place, I think we should embrace that and use it to our advantage. We should add an export tax to every seafood item leaving the state that goes directly to NIL and split amongst all sports. Don’t you know it would drive the Aggies, Longhorns, gumps, etc… nuts knowing they’re donating to our fund!

Yeah that is exactly what the thriving Louisiana economy needs to a tariff on exports so that we can fund college sports…. You are aware that all of the universities you just mentioned have their own gulf coast and fishing capabilities? Hell SE Texas does their own crawfish too.

Hate to break it to you, but the states of those universities have access to the gulf and damn near every seafood item you see in LA.

The US Constitution forbids this.

Texas crawfish suppliers wouldn’t be able to supply a tenth of what the crawfish demand is in Houston, much less the rest of the state. But to the OPs idea, yeah that isn’t a good idea.

Then they’d get more crawfish farms up and running. Hmm…maybe I could do that for my next job.

There’s only one problem, the lack of crawfish farms is because of water. The state of Texas has strict water regulations for agriculture use.

Damn. I’m fricked.

FWIW I’d rather have a shrimp boil than crawfish.

Where do you idiots get some of these ideas? Send your fkn paycheck to LSU and not force it on the rest of us.

Read an article a couple of years ago that Houston now consumes more crawfish than the entire state of Louisiana. Another reason to hate Texas!
