IIRC correctly, every 1 that goes up on the scale is a magnitude 10X the previous whole number. So yeah, 7 is a lot.

The Northridge quake of 94 in Los Angeles killed 57 and was a 6.7 for reference

Twitter just has some vids of pools sloshing around. I'm not seeing any major damage, but we are only 20 or so minutes post event.
