I don’t really have a suggestion on tires, but would like to congratulate you on purchasing a fine looking truck.
The last year of good looking Fords imho. (Which doesn’t count for much)
Please tell me it has a 5 speed!

My son drives a 96 F-150 single cab but his is 4wd. He has BFG all terrains on his. There wasn't a lot of options in today’s world for a 15” factory ford rim to choose from. I wish his would have come with the 4.9, but has the 5.0 with a manual transmission.

I know that the 300 6 is a workhorse and has a TON of low end torque.
Mileage on highway is around 13-14 MPG

Yeah duals would be nice since I think he only has a 12 or 14 gallon tank

Service the cooling system. Overheating is the death of a straight 6.

I sold my 1995 last year but I ran mud claw m/t
Miss it almost everyday. 4x4 4.9 with a 5 speed but it would sit for months at a time and every time I'd drive it, something else would be wrong. Sold it to one of my buddies on the condition I get first look if he ever wants to get rid of it.
Mine was black but I loved the way it looked with white letters facing outwards on the tires

well i thought i had 15s but after googling stock size, apparently i have 16s. i'm actually not sure. but i do know that the last two times i have bought tires, there were very limited options for my rim size.

Tic I will tell you when you start having to fix the little things that happen on trucks of this age look hard for motor craft when available. I have wasted a ton of time dealing with shitty replacement parts that don’t work worth a shite from the after market side of parts.

I have Cooper All Terrain 265/70/16 tires on my 1985 F150 4.9L 4X2 and they look great and perform well at the ranch. Tires are a little large for the truck and rub very slightly at full lock
