I’d have to go with Zy Alexander this year. He may not have the tangibles like a PP7, Stingley, or Claiborne but he was above and beyond the best player in our secondary this year and really made a presence on his side of the field this year. I think we lose an extra game or 2 without him this year. Hope the young man can get a chance, stay healthy, and do well at the next level if given the opportunity. Would love to see Stamps make that leap next year like Zy did this one.

Lacey has a good argument, but I think Savion Jones has been as improved as anyone in the new system.

He was absolutely useless on the edge last year despite his great size. He’s been a consistent force this season.

Most Improved?

I mean it’s probably Breaux jsut in pure improvement. He definitely wasn’t game ready when he stepped on campus

Sai’vion Jones was so much better this year than last year

The correct answer is Swinson.

There are many others pretty close.

Anderson

He had to have played hurt last year. Dude turned it on a different level this year. Hopefully he can take another leap

Remember Zy and Chestnut arrived together. Both got picked on early last season in House’s awful defense. One quit and went home, the other kept his head up and kept working and transformed into one of the best corners in the country. And he had to battle back from an injury as well.

Some of our Tiger faithful was negative about the Zy pickup due to him playing at Southeastern, but he’s a true bayou baller.

Savion Jones for me. I personally never thought he would be an impact after last season. He was so slow last year, and felt like a burden. This year he is constantly causing QBs to panic

Anderson was always a terrific player. . He was simply rehabbing from injuries.
Others actually improved. He just healed.

I’ll throw Greg Penn into the mix. He seemed to struggle early (could have been scheme). I thought he played well, not great this year.

I agree. These two have been MVPs of their units. Swinson sniffing out that trick play that was intended to be a throw back, and ended up an interception, was elite.

Can't argue with Swinson on DEF.

I'll go Mason Taylor on OFF. Since he arrived FR year he has gotten better and better. He will likely be a weekend pic and contribute at the next level, maybe even excel with continued development.

Anderson is my pick. After his performance last year, I was not encouraged that he was going to be a starter this year. But, to my surprise, he was maybe our most oustanding receiver. Not in quantity, but his catches were really important when he made them. He gets my choice for most improved.

It's Swinson and it's not even close.

AA just wasn't used much last year due to our first rd talent at the position. He was still damn good and proved it this year.

Swinson was around and didn't do shite. Finally got the right coaching and completely exploded.

Hope he gets straight paid at the next level.
