You can pretty much bank on the opposite of what the rant wants being correct.

They screamed for a new QB. And then wanted Swann benched after 1 1/2 series as well. The rant wants whoever isn't playing to play, until they play of course.

Because he’s being compared to the 2 Heisman seasons instead of every other season or the 2 Heisman winners 1st seasons starting.

We really have been spoiled with QB play the last several years. Obviously two heisman winning QBs but in the context of historical QB play at LSU guys like Max Johnson, Myles Brennan were pretty decent.

Not ever year will your starting QB be able to play as well as literally two of the best to ever do it and we have to be ok with that.

If given the opportunity that he hopes for I'm sure he's gone.

He'll end up with over 500 attempts; his YPA is 7.6 which isn't great. And yes, part of the problem is because there was no help in the run game. But that 2nd most passing yards stat is volume, not efficiency.

And I'm not one of the ones that was hoping he leaves, because I believe he can improve and make a jump next year.

Man what do the yards even mean? We are in the air raid most nights i would imagine he would have high numbers . He also threw 12 times to the other team with the easiest picks you can have!

It has been this way for as long as I have been following the Tigers, with Ensminger/Woodley. Then, when Risher was starting everybody wanted Wickersham. I feel like Tommy Hodson got everybody on the same page for a couple of years. And it really has been this way until now, with just 2019 and 2023 being the exceptions, although I feel like there were some in the first half of last year who STILL weren’t sold on Jayden.

A lot more than "some"... He was too hesitant to throw the ball, that was the knock. Heisman QB - rant wanted him benched...

Never wanted him benched, but I think he and the staff started playing a little scared to make a mistake. I think the bit hit, and whatever the gave him in the locker room got him pumped. If that's his new normal we're set.

I like Nuss and don't want him benched. Hopefully, he'll come back next year and improve. But context matters. He's throwing the ball 40+ times per game; that looks to be an LSU record so far.

Nuss is at 490 passing attempts on the season. Doing a quick look back, Nuss has thrown significantly more passes (100+) than anyone else in a season, except Burrow in 2019 who played 15 games (35 attempts per game)

Passing attempts in a season:
1. Burrow 527 (2019) 15 games
2. Nuss 490 (2024) 12 games
3. Daniels 388 (2022) 14 games
4. Burrow 379 (2018) 13 games
5. Johnson 373 (2021) 12 games
6. Davey 367 (2001)
7. Flynn 359 (2007)
8. Mauck 358 (2003)
9. Mettenberger 352 (2012)
10. Wickersham 346 (1985)
11. Russell 342 (2006)
12. Wickersham 337 (1983)
13. Booty 333 (1999)
14. Daniels 327 (2023)
15. Hodson 317 (1989)
16. Wickersham 312 (1984)
17. Russell 311 (2005)

I looked for seasons over 300 attempts. I may have missed some numbers here. If so, please let me know and I'll correct it.

Nuss is solid, he just needs to be willing to run the ball more.

Think about what Daniel’s did with only 327 attempts last year. He was remarkable, and it didn’t hurt having the second greatest receiving tandem in school history. It’s even more remarkable considering he was the only consistent rushing threat we had last year.

How many of those guys that he passed up played 12/13 games in a single season?

This. He's got 140 more attempts than Dart who leads the conference in yds. Let that sink in

LSU fans have always been horrible but they’ve really gotten worse and much dumber in the last 5 years and the clear proof were all the people blaming Jayden after the FSU game last year. Like it’s unbelievable to me after the horrible offensive play we experienced for so long that when things clearly fall at the face of the defense/general roster people still want to go at the QB.

Like people really do think the standard is 2019, and that’s so hilariously retarded

Even Burrow had his detractors.
