Slept in for first day in a week. Been off all week for thanksgiving and hunted every day. Ive seen 3x amount of deer in afternoon vs morning. So i decided to sleep in and rest today so im not so wore out for work tomo. I will be in the woods this evening though. Goodluck all! Feels cold

In some hardwoods between 2 thickets. Nothing yet.
Didn’t post yesterday, but what a day I had. Had a mile or so walk to a ridge through a swamp. Wore my waders in and packed my boots and change of clothes. Fell in the water twice(it was 29°). Got to the ridge, got changed, dry and warm. Saw 2 small bucks not worth the drag out. I was burnt out after the walk out so I went to an easy spot and killed a doe. Got her back to the camper and got her cleaned. Went to fire up the generator and the motor locked up. So it was a cold arse night. Hopefully today is better. Going buy a new generator midday because I’m staying in the camper until the 19th.

REB JR is hunting another boxstand down the pipeline from me and he’s seen 7 so far.
Said one of them was chased across by a coyote.

I might have heard one shot this morning, not close. They were all by the road on the way here, should have known it would be quiet. At least none jumped in front of me this time. I'll give it another 2 or so, they gotta move at some point.

New stand for me. Down at the bottom of a gulley with a good flowing creek.
Edit: Hunt was cut short. 45 mins after I posted this, all hell broke loose behind me. 4 does went racing through the woods in a full sprint about 40 yards up the hill behind the stand. 10-15 seconds after they went by, two pitt bulls ran by behind me and then circled around down to the creek right in front of where my stand was. They both had on collars, so definitely someone’s pet. We hunt about 255 acres, and the surrounding land is also comprised of larger tracts. My only guess is that they came from across the hwy. There are about 15 houses on a dead end road, so hopefully this is a one off and we don’t see the dogs again.

Didn’t see anything this morning. Went midday to get a new generator. Found a predator 5000w inverter with remote start on harbor freights website on sale for $800 marked down from $1,100. Got to the store and the sticker said $769. Employee tells me there’s an additional 40% off today. Got it for $462. Feeling lucky now lol
Came into an easy spot for the evening after setting up the generator at camp. On a ridge between 2 swamps. There’s a heavy walking trail through here. Does are fair game this evening.
Also, apparently the mosquitos don’t care that it’s been in the 20’s the past couple days. They’re pretty brutal.
