Nick Saban went 8-4 his last season with a completely loaded roster and all star coaching staff. What is his true legacy at LSU? If we know anything about him is he coached his arse off until the last second of every game that season.

He was checked out of the Iowa game.

Saban definitely never seemed like the type who would “check out”

His legacy? Is this serious? He won a Natty after approximately 17,000 years without one.

Do you remember those last four weeks? Constant speculation and distraction. Saban not talking about it. And the last play…

That team was 9-3, including the bowl loss. That was one of the last 11 game regular seasons.

And as loaded as the roster was, the QB situation was never really settled, and that led to some uneven games to put it nicely.

No. No he fricking didn't. Totally wrong. He finished the regular season 9-2 (6-2) and was 9-3 after the bowl. The collective amnesia and revisionist history of what transpired in 2004 continues to astound. Saban was the most talented coach in LSU history. The end.

This

Eisenhower was President the last time LSU won a natty before him AND had gone through the lows of the 90s.

He went 9-2 during the 2004 regular season with a new QB and two new WRs. OP fail.

Saban not only turned things around on the field by winning two SEC titles, and a NC; he put in place the infrastructure to advance LSU to the top.

He left a loaded roster, improved facilities, the Cox Academic Center, plans for the Ops Building, and the payroll structure to hire top coaches.

The Joe Dean era of poor boying it and trying to do more with less was over. Football was king and with Saban we started treating it as such.

Fisher was OC and Saban sat the better QB. That is a fact. Everyone knew it.

Is that true? History? So you knew Paul Dietzel? You were around then? Skip Bergman was the most talented coach in LSU history of all coaches including Saban.
That is a FACT.
