Victory Hill

I haven’t been to a game in years. When did the team start coming down the hill after the band?? I was looking at the schedule for tomorrow and noticed the band came before the team…. I thought the band was the last part of the festivities at victory hill??

Victory Hill has become a shell of what it used to be. It’s more of a parade now. Should’ve never brought the speakers out into the street when O was here. That was the beginning of the end.

Seems like they used to perform in the PMAC and then come down victory hill? But now they march down the hill and go into the PMAC??

No. March down victory hill then PMAC for at least as long as I have been a TAF member which is 20+ years.

Ok, thanks. Not the first time my memory has failed me. I always thought we would follow the band down the hill to the stadium.

In the mid to late 90s they would come down the hill and go straight into the stadium. As kids, we would run behind them cheering. Eventually, they had horses following the band.
I don't know when they started the PMAC thing but as a parent with little kids, selfishly, I like it. It's a nice landing spot with a new little entertainment, an escape from any potential elements, and a halfway decent bathroom

Team used to come first then the band. Don't know when or why it changed.

My friends and I used to watch the team walk down, then run into the stadium and up the steps to the top of the North endzone and watch the band march down and straight into the stadium. Can't do that anymore. I haven't seen the band march down since they started going into the PMAC. Nobody wants to be hanging around the outside of the stadium 2 1/2 hrs before kickoff.
The idea was to get thousands of fans worked up in a frenzy and send them right in with the band.

It changed around 2010. It used to be PMAC, Hill, Tiger Stadium. The band would go in the north side of the PMAC.

It was nice in the early 2000s when the band came down later. It’s so far before the game now.

Nope.
Member of TGBFTL in early 2000s. We went into the PMAC first, then the hill and straight into the stadium after.

I don’t know why this got downvoted. I was being serious. I believe the switch in the order happened the same year we hired CBK. This was the third season where the band marched down before the team. It was also CBK’s third season.
