Will he go out to Cali and work with the QB guru like JD did?

I hate it for Nuss because he showed so much promise but if I'm being honest, I'd like for us to go get a stud QB out of the portal this offseason. Nuss regressed the entire year and would probably need a miracle offseason in order to come back next year and kill it.

No his dad is a qb guru

I sincerely disagree. Nuss just need better players around him. He has shown that of you can protect him AND either the WR win their matchups OR the running game gets going that he is a very good college QB.
He struggles when you ask him to do everything but has proven he can be a very capable player when the other parts are also doing their job.

I just wish he would run more especially when he has room to pick up first downs and move the chains, that would be huge and the bad part is he is actually pretty quick and very capable of doing it.

Those are fair points.

Hanny said it best in the post game show. they simplified things and just let him ball and he had one of his best games against Vandy

I hope we go get a dual threat in the portal and I hope Nuss goes to a QB specialist to clean up his bad habits like throwing off his back foot, getting happy feet, going backwards instead of stepping up in the pocket, showing side armed etc...

He will prepare for the draft.

He finally has enough game film to evaluate what is true needs are. They will get it right if he returns which he would be crazy not to.

Yeah, Jalen Hurts seems to be doing pretty well for the eagles. Maybe he can coach Nuss how to keep it on a zone read

You have to excuse some LSU fans. Their memory and critical thinking ability don't extend beyond 2-3 weeks in the past.
Over the last 15 years the three best passing seasons by an LSU QB were 2013, 2019, 2023. In ALL three seasons the starting QB was a 5th year senior who was in his second year as the LSU starting QB, with his first year as a starter being solid, but not remarkable. If he returns Nuss would fit squarely in that mold.
Depending on who enters the draft, it is possible Nussmeier could start the season as a preseason All American should he return (depending upon what Milroe and Ewers decide to do). He's currently 7th in the nation in passing yards with essentially every noteworthy player above him either out of eligibility after this year or likely to enter the draft.
Yes, two of the greatest QBs in LSU history won the Heisman Trophy in their second year starting as a 5th year senior. LSU has another guy who would be a 5th year senior in his second year starting. But lets ignore the past and try to bring in someone new.

His regression happened about the team our 3rd year LG went down and we were playing 2 inexperienced interior lineman who were getting their asses kicked.
Give him time to work and he can be pretty good. Able to make NFL throws. He of course needs to improve on things like decision making under pressure or when to just take yards that are in front of him. But we also need to improve the offense around him. Get better on the o line, which helps pass pro and improves the running game.

The receivers haven’t done him any favors but the excuse making for the Nuss apologidr are nauseating. This kid sat for 3 years and 2 of them behind a heisman winning qb and learned nothing. He actually showed his didn’t progress at all from his short time having some live reps. This kid does not know how to work a pocket, he rolls out and runs out of clean pockets time and time again. He still thinks he can throw into double and triple coverage. He constantly throws off his back foot. He makes idiotic game costing throws. His receivers have dropped some huge passes this year but he’s missed so many open wide receivers. More than dropped passes. He refused to take off running as well and getting 5 yards or more. And the worst is he still will throw the ball into a tight window in double coverage instead of checking the ball down to his backs in one on one situations. It’s not so much them asking him to do everything as it is him feeling like he does. Look at the last game for an example. He threw constant short passes. Made his check downs to his backs and they made plays in open field for long gains. What i don’t think was fair for this kid was somehow this fanbase thought he was gonna be something he wasn’t. Some thought he was better than Jayden. The truth is the kid has been absolutely horrible in the biggest games of the year. This kid needs to sit in a film room all offseason and go learn from someone. If he goes pro he’ll he looking to coach in agout 5 years. He has no future in the nfl unless he transforms himself into a completely different player.

it amazes me how many people bash Nuss or think he isn't good enough. He should be #2 in season passing yards by the end of this season. Not sure what you people expect from him. Hes a first year starter following 2 heisman trophy winners and is on pace to be very good in his second year starting. If hes not winning every game and throwing for 400 a game and 4 tds LSU fans act like hes trash. Its ridiculous.

He’ll be getting ready for the draft unless his Dad tells him to return.

Yes, after losing 4 games and having a 50% completion rate in the biggest stretch of the season he finally did it against Vanderbilt. And the results were pretty good. Pretty crazy for a guy to be on campus and playing on this team for 4 years and just learned to do this. But it’s been one game.

It's also worth noting that Burrow had 2 seasons throwing to Chase and Jefferson and his 3rd WR (Marshall) was the #1 WR coming out of HS.
JD had 2 seasons throwing to Nabers and Thomas and his 1st season with 5 star Boutte as the 3rd WR.
A second season starting and 2nd season with the same WRs helps significantly. Getting CJ back would be huge.
I honestly don't think he's ready for the draft regardless what the scouts say. Nuss needs another season to develop.

I agree that Nuss likely makes a solid jump in year 2, but it's unfair to expect him to come close to the rarefied air that Burrow and JD occupied. Those seasons and jumps were an anomaly.
