My son is wanting me to download one of these app for use in our club.

Anyone with experience with either app? I would like to share accounts with him rather then 2 separate accounts, does either of these apps allow this?

If you have experience with both apps which do you prefer?

Right now huntstand has a free 360 cell cam from stealthcam when you get the huntstand pro.

I’ve got HuntStand pro and share it with my brother at our ranch and 4 guys at my lease.

I have both properties setup but I don’t think the non paying memebers have the pro access.

I have onX and share it with my son. Also like the ease of use on the web based platform. Look and mark stuff on it and its immediately on my phone. Hard to beat $70-80 per year for all 50 states

I have OnX and share it with my son. Excellent app for the DIY Western big game hunting I do. I was elk hunting and met a guy who had a deer tag only. He shared an offline map with me where he’d marked elk he’d seen.
I can’t compare the two, but OnX is a great app.

I use HuntStand and have been using it consistently the past 2 deer seasons. I can't offer a comparison to OnX since I haven't used it. Overall we use HuntStand for mapping tree stands, feeders and cameras with the occasional note for bedding areas and what not. I find myself using the app throughout the year to research properties and who owns what. It is a very useful app once you figure it out.

ETA: I also purchased the app when they were offering a free game camera. I haven't canceled 2-years later so the promo worked for them.

What do y’all mean by “share it with…” for OnX? I’ve got onX. Can I give my log in to my brother and we both use it at the same time or is there a limit to how many users you can have ?

With HuntStand I can share the property with friends.

They can’t make any changes but the markers will show up where all the stands and feeders are. It’s nice to be able to see where you are at and where all the stands are.

My son and I use the same password. Not sure if you’re supposed to do that, but it works.

Thanks guys, what I’m getting is both apps have decent reviews. I think I will try huntstand this year due to the free cell cam. If it doesn’t work out I will try onxhunt.

Thanks again for the input

This is exactly what I do with my brother. Going on like 3 years with no problems.

I’ve used HuntStand for many years. They changed the app and my old arse can’t find stuff anymore. Most people I hunt with use it onX so I now use onX.

I really liked hunt stand’s property owner search. Used it all the time for investigative purposes at work and research. But again, the app changed.

HuntStand was good imo but lost my info twice. I’m now using onx premium I think and like it.

I have both and map extensively for my work.

Both are good and offer very similar features. I tend to find OnX a little easier to use and have mostly gravitated to it.

I’ve used OnX, HuntStand and TerraStride (same company) , Spartan Forge, LandGlide, MotionXgps, maps plus, google earth pro, Avenza, BaseMap.

I use OnX and Spartan Forge right now for land and hunting respectively.
