Now that BU is gone, will Kelly demote Sloan in favor for a more experienced/proven OC?

Bama fans hated him. What makes him somebody that we would want?

I doubt Sloan gets "demoted". If he's not the OC, I expect he will move on to another school. I also expect him to not be retained as OC. When the HC, for the first time since he's been at LSU, feels it is necessary to carry a play sheet with him on the sideline that is a pretty clear indication the HC doesn't fully trust the OC.

The other question will be what happens to Hankton? He's technically the "co-OC". In reality, he's still just the WR coach. Would he accept returning to be just the WR coach again? Or would he like to be an OC somewhere? If so, I doubt he sticks around to be passed over for OC at LSU.

Kelly must return him to QB coach. I thought it was a mistake to name Sloan/Hankton co-OC's before the season. It hasn't worked so change it. Remember Les kept Cam Cameron when he could have changed because Cam's contract was up. Les brought him back and got fired. Kelly is smarter I think....

He's not getting demoted, he's either staying the OC or leaving. Why would he take the demotion?

Demand Brian Kelly be the OC and make him earn that 10mm.

I doubt he would accept a return to QB coach. That's a step backwards in his career path. He would probably try to get a OC gig at a different school

I do really hope sloan accepts a demotion like he did at LT. I think he's an important part of the room and important to keep him with Nuss, but he just can't be the playcaller anymore.

If he leaves, wish him well and make the move.

You can plug in whoever you want at OC and the offense will look similar. We’re doing the same things we were last year just without a QB that can turn a coverage sack into a 14 yard gain with his legs on 3rd down. Kelly has always been extremely involved with the offense wherever he’s gone and it’s been slight variations of this same system. Sloan might get scapegoated and his situational play calling sucks but he’s only part of the issue, we need the players to run what the HC is going to insist on running.

Underwood. Sloan was his main recruiter. The early thought process was that if something happened to Sloan, we could lose underwood.

With that being said, I think they bring in someone with experience that can fix the redzone issues.
