Gay Marriage

Taking all the politics out of this
Make the case why gay marriage is necessary?
On both a society/community level and even on a personal/individual level?
What benefits does this provide to a community in both the short term and in the long term?
What benefits does it even offer individuals that couldn't be resolved with a legal contract with regards to medical rights, assets, etc.

Morally to a Christian it is wrong.
Legally to the government, they cannot discriminate in their providing of services such as marriage licenses.
If you want to fix the "Gay Marriage" issue, get government out of marriage all together.

Why not? From a moral standpoint, why can't we set standards our communities? We have all kinds of other decency standards.

There aren’t any. It would be difficult to ever walk back now, but it should have never went through in the first place. Marriage is supposed to be between a man and a woman, even homosexuals had and have always had the same right to do that as everyone else.
If they wanted a civil union with the same benefits, there are very few who would have ever argued that shouldn’t have been legal. Christians, and some non Christian social conservatives always argued the importance was the term marriage itself. And as we have seen, the pro gay marriage people at the root were so adamant for the same but inverse reason, they wanted to be included in the word. But it’s not the same and never will be, and they cheapened the institution for their perversion.

Because of the Harm Principle. The US government was founded on the secular idea that despite your religion all people are equal. Therefore, if the Harm Principle is not violated, free people should be free to partake in government service even if it violates the majorities religious view.
Again I say, get government out of the business of providing that service and marriage can be solely in the realm of religion and your churches.
Here's the rub, you still won't stop "Gay Marriage" because churches will pop up providing that service.

Is this like the clean needle program in San Francisco. "Well people are going be degenerates anyways, we may as well regulate it and make it safer"
Homosexuality does not create children. If they want to be whores, it is only self-destructive to themselves.
With hetero couples, promiscuous behavior can create children which has an overall effect on the community

Its nothing like that.
Gay people will have sex whether you like it or not.

I can save you some time here. Shallow thinkers will try to tell you that the government has no business in the morality game, and they'll try to claim that government is about protecting rights and gay marriage is a "right".
What they can't explain is why people think it's a right and why it's a right and screwing on a park bench is not. That would force them to admit that laws and morality are intertwined and that they LIKE enforcing certain morals that they think are important enough to enforce. They just pretend they're protecting rights and not codifying morality.

It’s literally the same argument as the clean needle one

But what if most people were against gay marriage? Say like 20 years ago. Is it OK to make it illegal again?
But you were not making a moral argument, you were making a legal argument. So how about a religous/conservative community in somewhere like Oklahoma that overwhelmingly does not want gay marriage? Are they allowed to set their own standards on this issue?

You'll be burned at the stake for mentioning keeping gov and religion seperate.

Good luck winning elections with that attitude.
Guess how you win elections?

most may disagree with it on grounds of pro creation, biblical scripture and normalcy but really didn't give two shits what adults did in their bedroom back when it was NOT shoved down our throats 24/7.
gay marriage opened pandoras box to the mentally ill transgender bullshite we have now. it should have never been allowed based on that alone. now we have non stop LGBTQ commercials and a month celebrating that debauchery? pride month should be nuked completely.

It doesn't support natalism so government should not support it.

They should have just not called it marriage.
They could have called it a civil union. That way it's just a contract between 2 people. It's not about sex at all. It's about benefits and rights. Could even have 2 friends in a civil union so they can get healthcare benefits, make medical decisions, etc
