Booing LSU Players

Our fanbase has some of the dumbest MFers on the planet. At the game Saturday half the starting lineup was boo’d by a portion of our stupid entitled fans. People screaming at Nuss mid-play like they know what they’re talking about. Screaming at the defense for not getting pressure when Vandy is using quick game concepts. Just shut up and watch the game.
If you’re going to boo our own players, stay home. Just be miserable by yourself. Makes me embarrassed to be associated with them. And don’t hit me with the “it’s my money I can do what I want” or “now that the players are paid, they are employees not student athletes”. No, the booing is about drawing attention to your dumbass self. No one sitting by you wants to hear your input after every play. You’re not that important.

I like to know when that happened. Something occurred in the student section after the long td by Vandy and possibly another crowd murmer just before the 1/2 with the poor clock management, but you sure couldn't hear anything on the South side of the stadium. It must of occurred in the North among the students. Also, the majority of crowd noise is usually directed at the Coaches and ours do deserve a few boos.

When players get paid to play, they are no longer amateur players and they are going to get booed - simple as that .

It would take an awful lot to make me boo our own players, and I think that it's lame when people do it. But the same can be said about you. If you are so bothered by other people booing, then stay home.

I used to feel the exact same way but now these players are making more money each year doing what they're doing on the field than most fans in the stadium. Season ticket holders are either directly or indirectly paying these players NIL salaries (or both) and dammit if if I want to boo Nuss for being a turnover machine, then I have that right.
That said, I don't boo our players.

I think it’s really silly to think big time college football players are so sensitive that they can’t be boo’d when they play atrociously. Paid or not. It’s really not that big of a deal.

Exactly. They are professionals being paid to play. They should not get cuddled any more including on the Rant like they are true student-athletes playing because they love the school, love the sport, and/or are just kids giving up so much to play for LSU. They are hired guns and paid to play.
It was like this before, but fans could easier believe the loyalty to the school was true and not bought in the past. That veil has been burned down and why it is getting more and more difficult to see teams as part of the school.

Get paid, expect to get called out. Players want to treat it like a job, then unfortunately they should expect to be treated like professionals. NFL players get booed constantly.

There's a couple of things that were drilled into me from high school, that to this day, I still honor:
1. If any student boo'd at any sports game, you were suspended for 3 days.
2. if any student cut the corner on a sidewalk (walked on the grass at the corner instead of staying on the sidewalk), you had to pick up a big can of cigarette butts at the end of the day.
At the time, I thought these were extreme and stupid. These are so deeply rooted inside me, I would never consider doing any of them.
The funny thing is if you were caught smoking weed, you might get a slap on the wrist. I was told once about smoking weed: "I said it's Ok in moderation. Moderation is maybe a couple times a month, NOT a couple times a day"

The boos (along with the “fire Brian Kelly” chant) started in the student section and let’s be honest, LSU isn’t known for having smart students.
