How did Colorado become so stupidly liberal?

Back in my late teens I had an extended stay in Colorado and I felt it was no different than when I lived in southern Mississippi. Folk were friendly and welcoming and quite rural and lots of traditional values and conservative. How on earth did it become such a landing spot for so many progressives and woke fascists?

Imo it has a lot to do with the drive to legalize drugs we saw sweep the country mostly after the left moved on from getting gay marriage legalized. It’s why I was and am against legalizing weed. Appeasing any form of leftist whims without taking into account downstream consequences is usually always a bad idea full stop.

They’ve both had pretty catastrophic downstream effects even if I honestly don’t have much of a problem with either of them on their face. If you have an issue with queer theory and the troons trying to normalize themselves you logically must realize allowing gay marriage was a bad idea. In the same way if you have an issue with how many places like SF now resembles a zombie movie with drugged out freaks you must realize legalizing weed was a bad idea.
