Plans to put it on a .308 Remington LTR that’s been trued and blueprinted and completely tricked out over the years.

I have one on a 20 Practical and have been very pleased w/ it. I also have two Vortex Diamondback 6-24X40 scopes on varmint handguns and also like them.

It’s an OK scope that is made in China. Big Box stores sometimes get last years model scopes and blow them out at discounted prices. For $450, I think he could have bought better glass. I have 2 Arken scopes that use Japanese LOW glass and the scopes are assembled in China. Prices were $299 for a 4x16 and $399 for a 5x25 . These scopes are built like tanks, heavy and clear at all power ranges. I buy most of my optics from Doug @ CameraLand NY as his specials are hard to beat. No tax and no shipping charges. Also have a few Hawke scopes that are made in the UK and they are a super nice quality scope without the high dollar price.

Arken EP5 has a cult following in the price point. Might want to give them a look. I'd like to pick up a 5-25 eventually.

I have an Arken (SH-4 Gen II 4-16 X 50) scope on a 308.

I am really impressed with the scope for the price point.

Holds zero and tracks with the turrets accurately.

Edit for model

I got a Meopta Optika 6
2.5-15x44
last year for around $450
Made in Czech Republic. Tremendous scope in that price range

Fortunately, even bargain scopes are fairly good nowadays

I have one and it’s just ok. I feel for the magnification it has, the quality of glass isnt good enough to match that

did he shop around and do any research to compare various brands and models ? The same scope is sold an Amazon for $349 ... I'm thinking your buddy purchased on impulse and the 6-24X is overkill for his hunting needs. If he's happy that's all that matters.
