If Hochul was smart, she should pardon Trump now and make it all go away.

Prosecutors who vowed to get Trump seek to continue violating his constitutional rights with illegal lawfare. That is literally a criminal act under the color of law.

Reading that it falls back into the give and take push back that the DA and Judge has on who drops the charges/dismisses the case.
The DA wants the Judge to sentence him and then let it get tossed on appeal. They don't really have to do anything at all at this point.
The Judge wants this now to go away because this was a show trial that was purely political and now the political winds have changed and he now has a giant bullseye on his back due to how screwed up this thing was.
The Judge slow played this hoping that the DA would make some form of a motion to dismiss the charges due to the Supreme Court ruling on privileged conversations and material that would then be retroactively applied to the trial, which would almost assuredly get the conviction tossed on appeal. It reads that the DA blinked and so now all the other motions will go forward regarding the constitutionality of this prosecution as he is the president-elect, but nothing really about the potential Supreme Court ruling on privileged information conflict.
I am actually surprised the DA blinked here. They could have forced the judge to either call the continuance or sentence him by inaction.
