Emphatic NO here.

I get the naysayer positions about actual coaching experience, but at some point heart and leadership matter.

Davis has to be held accountable for the piss poor play of the OL. This unit was suppose to be one of the best in the country this year! They are absolute dog shite. Davis has to go! Just ask Devin Harper!

I think the loss of Dellinger is huge…he calls protections, is able to pick up the d line twists, and is able to get his eyes to where they need to be…also, he’s got a boatload of experience…he’s seen a bunch which really is vital to success. Think starting a freshman qb after your senior qb is out with injury…

Yep

Very low IQ take to blame the oline coach when we see a drop off with freshman starting at guards

Blame him for Chester sucking? That’s fair but dellinger was the glue

Other teams have OL injuries too. And they have developed a 6th 7th and 8th man to be able to come in. They may not be as good as the starters but our backups look like they have never played. Way too many plays where they block no one or are liabilities.

Do you think injuries affects depth and substituting in games?

Adams is injured and actually came back early from surgery to play some emergency snaps this week. He’s by far and away your best OL sub and would be a big upgrade over Mubenga. He can also play anywhere but Center.

The other primary guy with experience is Bordelon, but he can’t play Guard. He a Tackle only and been playing as a blocking TE a good bit as well since Markway bailed in camp. Your most talented younger guys are also Tackles.

There’s a reason we had 3 IOL in this class after last year was focused on Tackle and Center. I’m sure we will still end up with that many plus some experienced IOL from the portal.

Mawae would be a major upgrade for LSU Oline coach. He has more experience playing and coaching than Davis ever had, and at a very high level. Any coach that thought Mubenga was good enough to play D1 football just doesn't have an clue in talent evaluation.

Mawae has never been more than an assistant OL coach and is currently unemployed.

Mubenga is a redshirt freshman who had 42 D1 offers, 10 of those from SEC schools.

You know nothing. Sit this one out.

Mawae has forgotten more OLine football than Davis/BK knows.

Maybe that’s why he’s unemployed

That's the problem...we have elite blue chip talent and it's not being developed in a timely fashion. In today's college football your young players have to be ready to go.

That’s not really what I was arguing. I was referring to the poster who said anyone who thought Mubenga was a D1 player doesn’t have a clue in talent evaluation. That’s clearly an absurd statement given he had 42 D1 offers

Based on your other deductions, I can understand how you might think that.

Second year line players don't usually start. And if they do, that's usually a bad sign. That's today's college football, yesterday's college football, and tomorrow's college football.
