It seems like this board is split between folks who just want wins and give Rizzi the job permanently and those who want to fall apart so that a true rebuild can be forced upon the organization.
Personally, I’m in the tank and rebuild camp. But, I think the next game will make things real clear.
The Rams are coached by one of the best coaches in the game. They have a borderline hall of fame QB, two above average WR, and a good RB. How we look against them will be very telling.
I feel like beating a 2-7 Cleveland team and beating a Falcons team that strangely missed 3FG’s is a mirage.
I remember the Raiders beating the Chiefs last year with interim Pierce and then they gave him the gig. Now they may fire him one year in. I’m afraid we could make the same mistake.

The Rams are no test at all. The Rams have always been over inflated. The NFL contrived their Super Bowl appearances at the expense of the Saints.

Hit those fricks in the mouth early and often. frick the refs too. Oh, and frick their coach too.

coach mcgay created a job that made sure his lover could hug him back into the sideline from the field when he needs a hug.

If you're gonna chalk it up to luck vs falcons (missed fgs), you should at least acknowledge AK dropping a sure td and one of the fgs being blocked.

No one seriously wants Rizzi permanently, that's ridiculous

May want to reread some of those "give Rizzi the job permanently" posts. I would guess at least 90% of them are sarcastic, and many acknowledge that there is a possibility if Loomis is allowed to make the call it could end up being Rizzi if he finishes strong.

Honest question. Would this be a mistake. Rizzi gets a signature win vs Wash or @GB, Loomis gives him a nice contract to be the permanent HC in 2025. Saints will be somewhat restricted with how they can spend their money in 2025 because of the cap. As a result, 2025 results go about as expected, and they have to make a change after 1 year. Have heard NFL HC contracts are guaranteed so Gayle will now be looking at paying out DA's final years and now having to payout Rizzi's contract while now needing a new HC. That would have to be the end of Loomis' tenure right???

I think it's pretty clear that the team in not giving up and packing it in. Quite the opposite. Add to that players getting healthy especially on the O-Line and this could be another stretch like last season to close out.

Also I think there are far more people posters here not wanting Rizzi or discounting him as the full time HC because he's would be another internal hire regardless of how he finishes than there are people saying at this point he should be the HC.

I've said long before DA was fired the Rizzi will likely make a good HC some day. I hope he gets an honest interview shot which I'm sure if he finishes 6-2 or better he will but I also hope they do and actual coaching search this time and hire the best guy for the job.

I want them to lose every single game and stockpile draft picks for a few years. I’m fine with him getting the job if they do that because it likely means that he will be fired after a few years and the job will look attractive to a good coach if it is loaded with young talent.

I also want a complete overhaul of the organization but the Saints under
won`t tank.Rizzi is all in on his 8 game interview with not only N.O but the
rest of the NFL.If they lose it will be because they lost to better teams not
because of coaching.
