Ever since we were invaded by a million baby spiders from a live tree when I was a kid we have always had artificial trees. They last several years.

Spend what you would one two to three years of live trees to get one that is worth a damn. I'm not a fan of the built in lights. Once they break, its trash. Better to be able to just replace strings.

My parents are getting near 50 years married. They are on their second tree. Only bought the second one after I accidentally destroyed the first tree.

Wasn’t sure I was going to survive that one. People get attached to their artificial trees.

I used to be against them but the live ones were getting to be a ripoff.

I would but we end up going to dinner after getting the tree and we kinda make a night of it.

With modern LED's this is largely not a big issue. At least with the tree we have if one goes the rest still work, not that any have gone out.

Good point about the lights eventually burning out, but couldn't you just put a string of lights on it and keep on using it?

We’ve had a Balsam Hill tree for probably 12 years. Would definitely buy another. Worth the money

It took my wife and I years to finally come around, but the resounding answer is: Yes.

We’re going on year 25 with our 9 ft artificial tree. I’m sure they don’t make them like this anymore so we’re sticking with this one as long as we can.

Not to sound like TulaneLSU, but going pick out the perfect tree is a yearly tradition I will never give up. Even if it’s a cheap one from Home Depot. Fills you with the Christmas spirit.

This country waters down everything for the sake of convenience.
