Every year I get my hopes up for that game. Every year I am disappointed.

Seems like Georgia has the same issue we do. Both of our sets of players see those Alabama jerseys on the other side and don't play up to their potential.

Georgia is more glaring than us because they are so much more talented but it happens nearly every time they play Bama

Always has to be a smart arse with the exception. Dude!! We don’t want to win just 2/10 meetings with Bama. Hell, 4/6 would be better than what we’ve had, but we’d all kinda like at least 50/50, but would love to see LSu win 6/10.

Don’t forget 2004, 2006, and 2010 if you are including 2000 and 2022 in your 53 years.

2022?

So Kelly was only the 3rd coach in 50+ years to beat Alabama in Tiger Stadium?

To reflect correct stats - LSU’s record vs Alabama is abysmal in BR - worse than its road record

LSU plays Alabama better in Tuscaloosa - NC’s occurred in years LSU traveled to Tuscaloosa.

yall really need to stop with all of this. we are not on the same level as UGA.

This isn't about Bama. What's gotten into yall? We lost to .500 usc. We should have lost to South Carolina. We got rolled by Bama and Texas A&M.

Dude we beat Bama two years ago and were beating them at halftime last year. They have much worse coaches now too

I corrected my info - but the point stands - LSU just doesn’t fare well historically in Tiger Stadium vs Alabama - even our best coaches have had terrible nights vs them in TS.

more talented than LSU, yeah. than bama? Not hardly. Much is made of Kirby's record against bama but I mean, they're the greatest dynasty in football with (used to be) the greatest coach in the history of the sport. Losing to them isn't really a big deal and when you look closely, which ones should we have actually won?

2017: Bama more talent/better, won by 3 at neutral site
2018: Bama much better and more talented, won by 7 at neutral site
2020: bama exponentially better, won by multiple TDs in tusc
2021: teams evenly matched, split 1-1 (both games neutral site)
2023: UGA better, lost by 3 at neutral site
2024: UGA probably better (at the time), lost by 7 in tusc

Very few of these games you can clearly say that UGA was the better team that "should have" won. Not a single one of our last 7 matchups against them have been in Athens either.

Several years back, we were having a solid season about to play an SEC game (prior to the Bama game that year). Had an older guy at the tailgate tell me, "It doesn't matter who the coaches are, what year it is, who the players are...none of this season matters until we play Bama because it ALWAYS goes through them for us. And we will struggle to beat them every time we play them. I've watched it for decades".

This one was a must win and a two loss Alabama team. And we were coming off a loss to aTm. Getting demolished like that with everything going on brings a huge spotlight on everything failing. And it’s a lot.

The typical “everything‘s gonna be fine just win out “ attitude doesn’t work for this one.
