Can DeSantis appoint himself Senator?

He could resign and have the new Governor appoint him.

Issue is if he appoints someone they’ll likely run again after the seat is up for reelection and he’d have to get in a primary battle with Scott or someone he appointed.

DeSantis would likely smoke anyone he appoints in the interim at the midterms. No way Florida doesn't go big for him in a primary.

Heard rumors last week that DeSantis will appoint AG Moody / she is termed out in two years plus she was the largest vote getter of record (non presidential years) Florida history

Donalds did DeSantis VERY dirty in the primary. Stuff like that washes out all the time, but will be interesting to watch.

He just had an interview on Tucker Carlson less than two weeks back. It was somewhat interesting insofar as Trump's relationship with him.
