When I run a map it shows 7 hrs 45 min taking 49 south at Shreveport to Opelousas, through Baton Rouge on I-10.

Which is always a damned mess

Other way shows 8 hrs 56 min going to I-20 to 27 Mississippi through Utica to 55 to 10 // should be mostly Hwy

Leaving next Wednesday early 7-8 am to avoid traffic, which would you do ?

Take the Loop.

Duh

Seriously, I flip a coin. It's about the same except IF there's Basin issues

Get off of I-49 S at 190 in Opelousas. Proceed to Hwy 415 S to I-10 BUT check the traffic on Google before that turn, you may be better off taking 190 to I-110 S if the I-10 bridge is all red.

You are over thinking this

I-20, 3132 at Shreveport to I-49, 190 at Opelousas, take the old bridge on 190 and then get on I-10… either through 110 or go all the way down airline depending on google maps traffic at that time

I-20 to Rayville, then south on US 425 through Winnsboro, Natchez, St. Francisville, etc.

DFW -Rayville = 4 hrs
Rayville - BTR = 3 hrs.

When we go to Nola we've taken 20 to Jackson and then south on 55? To I10. We've been stuck too many times on the basin bridge or new bridge to risk going thru BR.
