When’s the last time we had a safety fly in and make a play near the LOS? Genuinely cannot remember.

There was a 3rd down play Saturday night where Milroe kept the ball and went right, Gilbert was free and saw it, and instead of flying in and even attempting a tackle, remained flat footed and tried to push him towards the sidelines.

Milroe stiff arms the shite out of him and gets the first down.

These guys are slow (physically and mentally) and soft as baby shite.

Gilbert & Ryan were really bad all night. Every Milroe TD was a missed tackle or bad angle by one of them

I miss having dawgs just about anywhere on the defense. There are a few average guys that get praise because they look really good next to everyone else.

Been saying this team needs that Big Cat mentality.

Many questioned, myself included, so many people standing around while two people square off. Waisted practice time, etc... but that shite hardened the team.

I’d even settle for a Jacoby Stevens right now. Still a good athlete and a great leader

Gilbert & Burns are two of the least talented players I’ve seen at LSU in a long time

Those teams were hard because they were full of talent and were 6 deep on the d-line and were full of talent at almost every position. Not to mention this drill was the source of numerous injuries. Maybe LSU should go back to running full-contact padded scrimmages the week before a game too.

Burns, Gilbert, and Ryan… the three stooges. All three have some of the worst football iq I’ve seen and are scared/ unable to tackle in the open field. Can’t wait until they are done at LSU

This is by far the least talented secondary (safeties mainly) at LSU since I can remember watching which was the mid 90s

I would rather put a literal dog out there over sage and burns. I hope they’re going to class because their football careers are rapidly coming to an end.

If you want to know why teams are killing LSU with simple read option plays it is the safety position. Those are the guys who should be able to come up and fill if the LBs get blocked. They don't...because both are incredibly soft (relative to what an SEC safety should be). Ryan wants NO part of contact. He never has. He looks like a 3rd grader on the field. Gilbert and Burns will come up and occasionally make a hit, but they are fundamentally poor tacklers. They are "shoulder tacklers" which means when they miss, they miss badly. The fact Ryan and Gilbert remain the two best options shows just how bad the recruiting at that position has been for the last 3 years a clearly the staff doesn't even think the freshmen/RS freshmen are ready to play.

I miss winning games we're supposed to win.

I miss only losing the games we're supposed to lose.

I miss beating out of conference opponents.

I miss having a tough team.
