We have a rinky dink airport. Some corporate jets, one passenger airline (Breeze Airways) with a few flights a week, and a bunch of prop planes (Piper Aircraft is based here).

Never seen F22 Raptors here before. Wonder if it has anything to do with Trump security? I dunno. Just interesting. I was passing by the airport, and one was taxiing to take off about 100 yards away. I pulled over and watched. Amazing.

Maybe there to enforce a TFR over Mar a Lago.

But you would think there are AFB’s close enough to provide a cap

Probably training flights.

Any idea if there is a restaurant there? I know we used to select where to land for training flights based on a good lunch spot.

My son (Army aviator) does the same thing from time to time.

Beautiful airplane and nothing like it. That POS John McCain helped kill its production.

Hence Linda Graham's admiration for John McCain. Both of them are and were P'sOS!!

Probably not a good idea to be reporting the movement of important military equipment on a public board.

Yes. CJ Cannons. I haven't been, yet. I've only lived here for 2 months, but I've been told it's really good.

I live a mile from the airport and can attest to the loudness...

ETA - the restaurant overlooks the runway and has a 4.6 rating with 1.9k reviews, so it probably is as good as they say it is. Open breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

It's not a big secret. They are pretty damn obvious, coming and going in the middle of the day.

It definitely was from the Stuart Air Show. I live on the base to final turn for runway 12R. There was also an F-16 in demo red/white/blue paint (not the Thunderbird paint job). Love seeing these guys in town. I also didn’t know there were other posters in Vero on this board!

ETA: CJ Cannons is pretty good for an airport restaurant. Say hi to Ms. Pat. She’s a Vero institution. We’ve been here for two decades, just wait until the Angels come back to town in two years!

Me either. We moved here in September. So far, we really like it. It's like a regular small town, but on the beach.

We are renting here, for now, about a mile from the airport on 54th Ave.

If you ever want to meet up for a beer or to watch a Tigers game, let me know

Your name is Tesla - what is the backstory on that? My son just graduated from Purdue in Physics and is always looking to talk science.

If you come by the info on the way to the grocery store, you can put it online. If my govt gets compromised because I revealed I saw some B17s at AEX, well, we just gotta do better.

I was working at Lockheed Marietta in the early 2000's. Every time they'd have one ready to turn over to the AF there'd be an RF-16 show up to film the test flights and make sure everything checked out. The day of departure would consist of the new F-22, one RF-16, three F-16s, and a KC-10.

To be honest, I don't know which aircraft is louder - The F-22 or the F-16. Those 16's would make your eardrums rattle even is you were inside Bldg B-24. They were a shite-ton louder than the F-18s the Marines flew out of NAS Atlanta at the time.

Pretty good chance that is your answer to why they are there.

Awesome! You can drop me an email at aceverobeach@yahoo.com (We used to have the Ace Hardware stores in town).

I’m a big fan of Nikola Tesla. A lot of people assume it’s like Tesla, the car but it’s not. My youngest is a Freshman at the Charter High School and wants to work in non-traditional (extra-Newtonian) propulsion systems. I’m SURE he would love to get some career path advice from you and your son.
