I thought I would be arrested at the airport

I had a Phillips head screwdriver in my laptop bag. I didn’t even get stopped on the outbound flight from Austin but on my return flight my bag got searched. When she pulled it out my heart dropped but apparently a pointed tool is not considered to be dangerous. I need to remember to search my bag before I fly next time

You probably look like a barista so they saw no threat

I have pink hair, gauges and doodle tattoos. Is that the barista look?

I accidentally left a box cutter in my bag and it made it through multiple flights. You’d think after 9/11 that’s one they’d pay attention to.

I think they audited TSA a few years ago and multiple firearms made it through. They aren’t that good. Despite how it seems.

Try being a geologist and traveling with a rock hammer. Houston air port didn't see it as a problem, other airports did.

I guess the angry, lower class ATL TSA "agents" were more focused on yelling at people than doing their jobs.

I've accidentally had knives make it through TSA on my hiking bag, shite happens.

My buddy accidentally brought two Leatherman style foldable knives with box cutter blades through TSA on his carry on. All they did was confiscate them and actually offered to mail them anywhere he wanted for $25 a piece.
We definitely expected a lot worse of a reaction and consequences from TSA. This was a couple months ago.

I flew twice to Adu Dhabi and once into Europe with a pocket knife in my backpack. Had no idea it was there. They finally found it when I was flying through Europe this year. They take that shite a little more serious in Europe.

It could just be confirmation bias, or that I’m simply a goddamned delight, but one of my favorite things about having Precheck is that it seems we get a more reasonable class of agent while the plebs get stuck with the dregs.

I flew one time about a moth or so after Sept 11th. flew from Nashville - massive security at TSA, roaming military with dogs in the terminal. additional searches getting on the plane. 1/2 way to Hartford, a woman sitting 2 rows up on the aisle breaks out the knitting needles and starts knitting.
that was when i realized it is all bullshite. hell a coworker about 12 years ago flew to Albuquerque with a pocket knife in his laptop bag to and from, and it was never seen.
George Carlin said it best - Airport security is a joke, it is only there to make white people feel safe

Really? You thought you would be arrested? Why? Did ya try and stab someone with it?

I went into the local courthouse to see a clerk while carrying a briefcase that contained a secretarial kit with a small stapler, notepad etc. A couple minutes after going through the scanner a deputy rushed up to me and demanded the briefcase. I was in possession of this bad baby. As he was confiscating it, I pointed at the large sharp pointed scissors on the clerk's desk in front of me, which could be used as a legit murder weapon. I also knew that the clerk behind the desk had a purse containing a fully-loaded .38, as the employees were allowed to simply walk past security. One day someone there could go postal, and not with kindergarten scissors.

If you had 2-3 carry-ons, what are the odds their screening machine could tell if you had a gun that you took apart and put into 2-3 different bags
