Sad to hear we won't get to meet or see Ben for Game Day Saturday. Kirk just posted his cancer had spread so much they had to put him down this morning.

Sad day.

It's a day that I dread. Really sad. From what I understand Ben was his travel companion too.

Dogs are the best. Hate that for kirk, I’m sure the LSU vet team will do something nice for him on gameday.

Damn, that sucks.
I have dogged on Kirk for years but I don’t wish that pain on anyone.

Cancer is a sonofabitch not matter the life it takes.

Lost my pup to hemangiosarcoma in February and his post read all too similar. It’s so incredibly painful to see their legs give way.

Pets are amazing and the grief we have is the price we pay for such great relationships. The worst part is the quiet, No more rushing in after wrappers or loud greetings home.

Hope Herbstreit finds peace soon.

Its so hard to let them go. They are with us for too short of a time. We know thats part of it but it doesnt make it any easier. RIP Big Ben.

What's sad is what he is doing to that animal to keep him alive. Making a dog take chemo and shite. That has to be one of the most miserable animals on the planet rn. The dog's instinct will continue to fight, but it wasn't meant to be like this.

I had to put my Boy Reves down back in July. He was poisoned and there was nothing that could be done. I had to make the hard decision to euthanize. Next to losing my mother the prior July (2023) it was the hardest day of my life.

IMO there is no better unconditional love you will receive than from your dog. Truly man’s best friend. RIP Ben.

Hopefully the college gameday crowd gives Ben a good tribute.

Always very sad when a family dog passes. I also like Herbstreit... But he is also talking about his dog like it's a person. "He and I could communicate. We understood each other and had each others backs"

No hate, but just a little odd
