Obviously they have increased the number of games and countries. What is the end game? Eventually play 1/4 of the games there? 1/2? Most?

Obviously a global audience can print you more money. So is that truly the NFLs goal? If I’m a season ticket holder I would be upset to lose home games like I was when LSU played neutral openers.

Just curious if the NFL even knows. Because it seems like most NFL fans would not support expansion internationally if it means less local games.

I thought I heard something online recently that the nfl is eyeing having a weekly international game or something with every team having one.

With week 17 (and probably a future week 18) are you really losing a game?

I am sure the NFL is just doing the international games to be nice, friendly, and as an act of charity. They certainly don’t want money!

Great game next week in Germany. 2-7 Giants vs 2-7 Panthers!

their goal is to create more fans and make more money

many years ago they calculated they had more or less saturated interest in this country to the point where it’s far cheaper to make new fans in other countries than here. So that’s what they’re doing.

As soon as it’s viable they will put at least one team in Europe.

Expand the audience for the American football, they had a q&a session recently with EPL and NFL players where they quizzed each other on their respective games. The EPL players knew a lot more than I thought about the NFL.

The resistance in Europe of American Football may have finally fallen some and same can be said for the other way around as well.

I don't get it either. NFL played in Brazil. Every space at every elementary school from 8 years old through college has soccer fields and they aren't converting a single one for American football. The large cities such as Rio and Sao Paulo are in the same boat. Soccer fields are built and established. They aren't building an NFL stadium anywhere near the larger cities.

Soccer culture runs deeper than our football and baseball combined. NFL is only every going to be a TV sport in South America, Europe, etc.. Maybe TV revenue is worth the effort overseas... strange.

They are trying to expand the brand. I can see them either moving a team or expansion to London. 100%. They will work the schedule where the London based team plays away games on the US in 4 weeks stints since traveling each week would be too much. They would a US based location and practice facility near a major airport either NY or Atlanta would be my guess.

The next major goal is to have all teams play a 17th international game

The end goal would likely be a full team abroad, idk if it’ll ever be logistically feasible tho

Like others have said, I think the goal is for each team to play one international game per year and to have one international game each week.

This expands the number of fans in other countries and also opens up another time slot in the US.

I used to think they were going to move a team, but I'm not sure now. Travel would be really tough on that team, maybe they just rotate. Or maybe they eventually do a division in Europe.
