He’s gonna single handidly win us games we would have lost and cost us valuable draft position.

And we’re paying him 12.5m/year after the age of 30 when we didn’t have to.

Definitely shouldn't have given a RB at the tail end of his career another $25 million.

I mean he is still playing like a top 5 back.

He is very sturdy and keeps in great shape. It's only a 2 year deal.

Kamara is the least of the problems.

It’s a luxury and not one we can really afford as we bottom out. It’s just terrible business at this point. Has nothing to do with his current ability. He’s simply not a long term piece and it’s top 3 running back money for a team who had no use for an aging premier running back.

No other team in the league likely paying the guy that money at this age either.

If I was the 49ers, I’d have went after him. Him and Mccaffery together would kill it in that offense.

This! The injuries (training staff) and drafting are the biggest issue with this organization. Drafting and cap management are Micky’s issue.

DA is horrendous as well

Nobody else paying him an extra 25 M at this age. Especially a contender. So why not?

And we could get by with paying RBs A LOT less while we clean this up.

What’s the purpose of paying a running back even 19m/2 years at this point over the next season or two?

There isn’t any.

Because he’s an awesome player and they want him on the team but not for the $25mm he was due without an extension.

Call me crazy, but that’s the kind of player I like to have.

He’ll be good for a few more years because of his style. You can’t judge him like other running backs. God I hate the internet

He's one of the few guys we could trade and come out ahead financially

He's a RB

He's old

We're one of the worst teams in the NFL and look to be bad next year, too

There's zero reason to keep him.

This team is going nowhere until DA and Loomis are gone.

By that time, Kamara won't be worth anything/retired.

We need to sell everything we can (which is limited due to Loomis' cap management) and start the re-build

You’re not getting any meaningful compensation back by trading him. He’s a locker room guy at worst, he’s a top 3-5 RB in the game at best. The investment was fine.

Since the Breese era is over, do you trust the Saints to make any good decisions regarding Coach hiring, salary cap or winning vs losing during a meaningless season? The contract to Alvin is just dumb. Keeping Dennis Allen was just dumb. I have no confidence this front office is gonna turn this franchise around.

We get him off our books, instead of clogging up our books when we need flexibility to rebuild.

I don't care if we only get a 7th back. We needed his salary gone.
