If he was still in a smart market it maybe could go under the radar but being with the Lakers he's done.

Hours after we posted the video, the NBA confirmed it is now revisiting the matter to determine if punishment is necessary.

So he isn't in trouble because they saw the video. He's in trouble because we saw it.

This is BS. Has it been over 3 years? There should be a statute of limitations. Plus he was already punished. Unless there is a new crime, everybody should move on. I don't like Hayes. I'm glad we let him go. But people can't be left on the hook for years. That's not fair..

I’ve always said his IQ is barely above one of a retard. Top 10% physical talent but an absolute zero in the brain. Shame

What was his punishment that you say he already endured?

"he was sentenced to three years of probation, 450 hours of community service and a year of weekly domestic violence classes. He was also ordered to pay restitution."

That was over two years ago. He was arrested over 3. If the NBA wanted to punish him additionally, that should have happened after he pled, not over 2 years later. The Union should push back on this hard..

Why is this coming up three years later? The NBA is reopening its investigation due to the release of the video, but why was the video released now, more than three years after the incident took place? According to ESPN, the video is part of a new lawsuit filed by Jamora's lawyers, in which she accuses Hayes of compensating one of the officers involved in his arrest for unknown reasons.

quote:

A Lakers spokesperson told ESPN the team is cooperating with the NBA. A spokesperson for Jamora told ESPN that as a victim of domestic violence, she "welcomes" the investigation into Hayes' actions and will fully cooperate.

Remember Ray Rice? NFL watched him knock out his wife and slapped him with 2 games. The tape gets out and he’s banned for life.

So if new info comes to light then it should still be swept under the rug*

If my aunt had a pair, she'd be my uncle. The NBA is 100% going to act like this is all new to them, because they have to protect their brand. They knew, but they will play dumb.

Imagine being gifted with that height and athleticism and squandering it. Then also imagine beating a beautiful woman like that.

He is a subhuman moron.

Yes. It happened a long time ago.

I don't care. It happened a long time ago. Statute of limitations exist for a reason. If she wanted, she could have pressed charges a long time ago. Same goes if she's suing him civilly now. It shouldn't be allowed to happen years later..

If her civil action is prescribed it will get thrown out. If it isn’t prescribed she has every right to sue him. Whether you like it nor not.
